No, quite the opposite ! This spreadsheet was designed specifically for Google Sheets (which is 100% free with a Google account).
As noted in the instructions sheet, it will not function properly in traditional Microsoft Excel because the formulas and visual formatting were custom-built for Google's ecosystem.
All you need to do is click File → Make a copy in your Google Drive, and you’re ready to rule your finances.

Yes, I’ve got your back.
The spreadsheet tabs and complex formula cells are completely protected by default.
This means you can type in your income, your expenses, and check your bills without any risk of accidentally deleting a formula or breaking the automatic calculations.
If you are an advanced user and really want to change the inner workings, you can manually remove the protection via Data → Protected sheets and ranges, but do it at your own risk !
